SSAFA Forces Help offer a range of services which are available

no matter where you live.

 

For serving and ex-serving personnel we offer a wide range of support services and facilities, including:

SSAFA Norton Homes

Our NortonHomes provide ‘home-from-home’ accommodation for the families of badly injured servicemen and women being treated at SellyOakHospital and Headley Court rehabilitation centre. 

 

Stepping Stones Homes

Our Stepping Stone Homes provide temporary accommodation for separated families and offer them ‘breathing space’ and time to reflect.

This services is designed to help Services families who need emergency or compassionate help with complex travel arrangements from or to the UK.

 

 

 

Health and Social Work Services

 

We provide a Health and Social Work services on behalf of MOD in most overseas establishments and in the UK for RAF personnel. 

 

Housing Advisory Service

Housing related needs can present both practical, emotional and welfare issues and these form a significant and important part of SSAFA’s role.  We offer advice and assistance to those eligible for our help, ranging from disabled ex-Service people and their spouses capable of independent living, separated or estranged families looking for temporary supported accommodation to rough sleepers and many more.

 

St Vincent's Residential Care Home

Set in its own spacious grounds near Ryde on the Isle of White, St Vincent's is a residential care home that provides excellent facilities for its 25 residents. Residents find that life at St Vincent’s means that coming into care is not an end to normal life but rather a new opportunity to enjoy life to the full whilst receiving the care and support that they need.

 

Homelessness Support

The London Homeless Division works with ex-Service rough sleepers. Priority action is taken in the areas of primary needs such as food, clothing and shelter. Any other issues that arise, and are relevant to improving the welfare of the client, are also looked at and appropriate referrals made.

Support for Families with Dependants who have Additional Needs

including Holidays for Children with Additional Needs

We provide support and encouragement for families with a member who has additional needs - be that a dependent or the Serving Soldier or a carer.  Our advice covers every aspect of additional needs, from help with Social Services through to housing issues.  And we organise children’s holidays that offer experiences and activities often unavailable to children with additional needs.

Adoption Services

SSAFA Forces Help is a registered adoption agency and we are proud to say that since 2000, we have placed more than 50 children with Service families.

Support for Prisoners and their Families

In 2004 the Veterans Policy Unit led an initiative to support Veterans who were serving a prison sentence and their dependants. The aim of the ongoing initiative is to reduce re-offending within the ex-Service community.

 

 

Confidential Support Line

 

Contact the Support Line on 0800 731 4880 – calls are free.  Lines are open 365 days per year and are manned between 10.30 and 22.30 hours.
