Who are we? The SSAFA Forces Help In-Service Committee Catterick Garrison is part of the countrywide network of SSAFA Forces Help branches, divisions and In-Service Committees. What do we do? Our role is to address the welfare needs of those individuals and families of service personnel who are still serving and who are based at Catterick Garrison, as well as addressing the wider welfare needs of the Catterick Garrison Community. About the Committee Our Committee is made up entirely of volunteers from the Garrison Community.
We meet regularly to plan and organise fund raising events, design and manage PR and Awareness campaigns and to consider applications for assistance. Additionally we liaise closely with the various Unit Welfare Officers of the Regiments based at Catterick, as well as with the Army Welfare Service, the Army Families Federation, Citizens Advice Bureau and other professional and welfare organisations in the area. Who is on the Committee? Our Committee is formed like any other; we have 3 officers of the Committee: The Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. We also have Committee Members. Our Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, as well as our Members are all ordinary wives, husbands, mothers and fathers who live, and in some instances also work, at Catterick Garrison. By coming together and taking part in the work of the Committee we all feel we can make a positive contribution to the Garrison Community, and have a lot of fun whilst doing it! Also we have Delegates to our Committee who are social and welfare professionals, who provide us with expert advice and guidance where necessary. Lastly we also have Observers from the central offices of SSAFA Forces Help in Want to help us by offering your support, or find out more about becoming a Committee Member?
