SSAFA Forces Help Committee at Catterick Garrison are always looking to recruit Volunteers from the Garrison and the local community to work within Catterick Garrison itself, and in other areas of the wider Garrison community within As a volunteer you can contribute as much or as little of your time as you feel you can give. You do not need to have a military connection. We are looking for people to join our bands of: Community Volunteers who work to improve lives every single day of the year. Their work is with the Garrison’s servicemen and women and their families. This may range from helping them get financial assistance to getting special equipment for those with a disability. Or it may simply be giving friendly advice and support over a cup of tea. For this role full training will be given by our SSAFA Forces Help Volunteer Development Manager, and your work will be supported by our Community Volunteer & Awareness Supervisor. Administrative Volunteers who work with us when we are planning different fundraising events and projects. Skills such as IT, web design and management, administration, are all helpful – but whatever your skill is we are sure we’ll appreciate it and find the best possible role for you. Support Volunteers who help us actually run our fundraising events. This role can include doing things like street collections, or helping man our stalls and booths at Open Days, Fairs and other charity events. Always fun and very rewarding!
Whatever you do will be greatly appreciated by the people who need our help.
Full training will be given where necessary, and all reasonable out of pocket expenses reimbursed. In some instances personal references will be sought and CRB checks will be required since certain roles may involve interaction with minors.
